About Eleebana Beeswax Products, Candles & Gifts
ELEEBANA BEESWAX PRODUCTS
Eleebana Beeswax products are environmentally friendly and made from all natural and renewable resources. The Eleebana Beeswax business model supports the use of natural organic produce, sourced primarily from local suppliers. Eleebana Beeswax supports both local and international community projects.
Eleebana Beeswax candles are not bleached or treated with chemicals of any type. Where additional ingredients are required for some products such as the beeswax melts or lip gloss, only high quality natural ingredients are used.
ELEEBANA BEESWAX CANDLES
Candles are handmade / handpoured using 100% Pure Victorian Beeswax, with no added chemicals and using only pure cotton wicks.
Beeswax Candles burn both brighter and longer than most other candles. They do not emit soot or toxins to pollute the air you breathe.
Beeswax candles produce a light natural honey aroma which is well tolerated by most people when lit (unlike the overpowering artificial aromas of many commercially produced candles).
The white powder which occasionally appears on beeswax candles is caused by the some of the natural components of the wax migrating to the surface. This is evidence of the purity of the beeswax being used. The white coating is easily removed by wiping the candle with a soft cloth or applying gentle heat.
SAFETY TIPS FOR BURNING CANDLES
-
Never burn candles near children and pets.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Keep candles away from draughts
eg open windows, fans, heaters, air conditioners and vents.
-
Keep the wick trimmed to between 0.75 and 1.25cm before each lighting. Short wicks produce a smaller more controlled flame. Never leave wick trimmings or debis such as matches in or near the candle.
-
Limit the burn time. It is recommended that you never burn a candle for more than four hours at once.
-
Always use a base under your candle since wax has a tendency to stain.
-
Make sure the candle is on a level surface (the flame will burn straight up even if it is through the side of the candle).
-
Let a candle harden and completely cool before relighting.
-
Always burn the candles including votive candles in a suitable container.
-
Remove all candle packaging and decorations.
ABOUT BEES & BEESWAX
As a natural product made by honeybees, beeswax is produced by the young bees in the form of tiny scales secreted from glands on the underside of the abdomen. The process of producing wax requires the bees to fly 500,000km and consume 10kg of honey to produce 1kg of beeswax.
Beeswax colour varies depending on the flora in the region the bees are gathering from, therefore the colour can range from almost white or the palest yellow through to dark brown. The indigenous flora of Southern Victoria ensures that the wax used by Eleebana Beeswax is a rich golden yellow.
